Coming together in support for Cora Fort and family

sickness finally hit me

Well it has been kind of frustrating lately, because I have been sick, so I haven’t been able to spend as much time.really barely any, with mom and dad. I really don’t want to risk getting mom sick. She is such a trooper. I know the only way mom and dad have been able to get through this is because of all of your prayers and love. Moms voice has been hoarse for a really long time now, which I don’t understand because of the chemo shrunk the tumors, why hasn’t her voice come back?

I try and call a couple of times a day to at least say hi, and let them know I am thinking about them. Mom got dad to take her to Macy’s the other day, and she called me to ask me my shirt size so she could by me a shirt. Once a mom always a mom. (It was a very nice shirt though!)

Mom is so thoughtful… even in her suffering, she thinks of me. I am very lucky to have her around, and also a loving dad to taske care of her 24 hours a day!

Mom will hopefully have good enough counts to start chemo again tomorrow morning at 10:00am. i am going to try and make it to the hospital. We’ll seee how I am feeling!

love, Michael

Valentines Day

Well it has been awhile since my last update. Sometimes it is easier to just put cancer on the backburner for awhile, and just focus on placing energy towards spending time with mom and dad.

We got some great news a few weeks ago, and have been slowly spreading it via telephone and email.

MOMS LATEST CHEMO HAS GIVEN US A SMALL MIRACLE! The report states that moms tumors have had a dramatic reduction in size and quantity. Praise the Lord! We were so shocked when we heard Dr G say this, that I think we were too afraid to believe it until we actually saw and read the report with our own eyes.

Moms treatments the past two weeks have been draining to her though, and she has been pretty fatigued.

She was able however to attend my grandmas 94th brithday party last Sunday. Over 50 people attended the luncheon.

I was also able to surprise mom with a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries. Mom then spent the rest of the afternoon delivering chocolates to her team at Swedish hospital.

Mom also upgraded her cell phone to a model that is louder and easier for her to hear. She also sent me her first picture message :-)

Overall, we are very blessed to have this time with mom. Everyday is a blessing!

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and support!

Love, michael
